    Many families find themselves with questions in the early days and weeks postpartum. Get the breastfeeding support you need at the clinic setting you’re familiar with. Be assured that you won’t be rushed. Appointments run approx. 1.5-2hours in length with the follow-up you deserve. Time is taken to make sure your questions are answered and you leave confident about your next steps. Appointments are currently available upon request via South Calgary Midwives.     Calgary Breastfeeding Centre supports up and coming lactation consultants by providing hands-on mentorship. Consider lactation support from one our of Mentees. All Mentees who provide a leadership role in Lactation Consultations are overseen by an IBCLC Lactation Consultant every step of the way.

  • Virtual Breastfeeding Help

    Some breastfeeding questions or concerns can be addressed virtually. Starting solids, going back to work or solving nursing strikes can be supported without the full assessment. Keep your Lactation Consultant in your back pocket by booking a virtual consultation. Chat either by phone or video.

  • Breastfeeding Education for Families

    Breastmilk offers everything your baby needs for nutrition and health in the first 6 months of life. This 2 hour class is designed to teach you the importance and benefits of breastmilk, how to achieve a good latch, how to realize and maintain a good milk supply, how to pump effectively, and more.

  • Natalie has been such an important part of my breastfeeding journey. The first few days after my son was born, I was having challenges with his latching (causing pain) and it was weighing on me mentally. I saw Natalie five days postpartum in clinic. In the time leading up to our appointment, she reached out to me and provided resources and advice. During my in-person appointment, Natalie helped me with different latching strategies to find a pain free technique. I left my appointment feeling much better and a lot more confident. My breastfeeding journey since has been pain free and has been a wonderful bonding experience with my son.
