Lactation Education for Doulas

  • "Natalie and the Calgary Breastfeeding Centre put on a lactation education workshop for our local Calgary Doula Association and it was one of the best presentations I’ve been to in a long time. Natalie is professional, inclusive and engaging - while also holding space to be human when asking questions and learning about an important piece of parenting & nurturing, that many can feel very alone in. Whether a person is choosing to try breast/chestfeeding or is choosing not to, Natalie would be a valuable member of any support team. Her expertise will help me in my birth doula role, even those first few hours postpartum and the conversations leading up to birth (where we give time for the planning and supports that may be needed in the hours/days/weeks/months after birth). The info and conversations we had will also support my naturopathic practice and I can’t wait to integrate some of the amazing knowledge shared. On a personal note, I wish I had found her during my own breastfeeding journey with my twins. Will be including her contact in baby shower cards in the future. Thank you, Natalie"

  • "As part of my Doula Certification Program, I was required to complete additional training on breastfeeding and lactation support. Natalie at Calgary Breastfeeding Centre offered an exceptionally well laid out and easy to follow training session. The content was incredibly informative and educational, and questions were answered quickly and thoughtfully. I appreciated her personal approach and relatable demeanour. I left feeling considerably more confidant in my knowledge around breastfeeding. I highly recommend this instructor, and I would welcome the opportunity to work with Natalie again in the future."

  • "I have had a great experience with the courses at the Breastfeeding Centre. I completed both Part 1 and Part 2 of the breastfeeding education program. Natalie Borden is the instructor, and she provides evidence-based education on all topics related to breastfeeding. If you are seeking further education in breastfeeding and credits to support families facing breastfeeding challenges, this is an excellent place to start. As a nurse working with new mothers, I now feel much more prepared and confident."
