Breastfeeding Promotion, Protection & Support
The Basics of Human Lactation such as Anatomy & Physiology, Latch, Suck/Swallow/Breathe, Skin to Skin
Feeding Assessment
Milk Production & Assessment of Milk Transfer
Common Breastfeeding Challenges such as Latching Difficulties, Plugged Ducts, Engorgement, Mastitis, Thrush
Sustaining Breastfeeding
Simulation Model to Provide more “Hands On” Education
This course is primarily focused on well Full-Term and Late Preterm Infants*

Course Pre-requisite: Either Calgary Breastfeeding Centre’s 20 Hour Breastfeeding Course, a 20 Hour Course from another provider, or Previous Certification as an IBCLC is required for this Advanced Course.
